HISTORY:

RESTORATION LOG includes log entries of repairs and restoration between the time of purchase at Barrett-Jackson and the present.

When I went to the Barrett-Jackson 2007 Palm Beach Auction with my employer, Derek, I was pretty sure that this was the year he was going to bid on something. My knuckle-skinnin' antics on my old truck "BillyBob" in his office parking lot over the years had whetted his appetite again for the car hobby. He does not have the inclination or the time anymore to do the mechanical work but neither does he want to lock his acquisition away in a dusty garage like a trailer queen. He wants to drive it. With this in mind he had several "resto-rods" picked out among the lots he wanted to bid on. The looks of a classic with the reliability of a contemporary car. Imagine my surprise when he bid on and won both a 1941 Ford Super Deluxe Convertible and a 1939 Cadillac Series 61 Convertible. Both restored classics.

Immediately after the hammer fell on the Caddy, Derek turned to me and said "Your job description has just changed." I will be in charge of some of the routine maintenance, parts-chasing and research for these two beauties. The RESTORATION LOG is a history of small repairs and restoration research between the time of purchase at auction and the present.
